A long crease dent across the bonnet of a dark grey car, lit to show the damage

Delacombe, Ballarat, since 2010

Dents out.
Factory paint in.

Paintless dent repair is the trade of pushing a dent back out from behind the panel and leaving the original paint untouched. No filler. No sanding. No respray, and no colour match to worry about later.

Bloke, start to finish

One tailgate, one afternoon

Same panel. Same paint.

This is a white Hyundai Tucson tailgate, photographed in the Delacombe shed before and after. Nothing was filled, nothing was flatted back, and nothing was sprayed. The panel you see on the right is still wearing the paint it left the factory with.

A dent pushed into the tailgate skin, running across the pressing above the badge. A panel shop would fill and repaint this.

Worked back out from behind. The reflection runs straight again and the original paint has never been touched.

The plain version

What paintless dent repair is, and when it will not work

A dent is metal that has been moved. Get behind it with the right tool, work it in the right order, and the metal goes back where it started. The paint on top flexes with it. That is the whole trade, and it is the reason a paintless repair keeps your car original in a way a respray never can.

It is also why it is honest work. There is no filler hiding anything, so you see the result under the light before you pay for it.

Good candidates

  • Car park door dings
  • Hail across a bonnet or roof
  • Creases on a body line
  • Dents where the paint is unbroken

Worth a look first

  • Paint already cracked or flaking
  • Very sharp damage on an edge
  • Panels with no access from behind
  • Anything you are not sure about

Bring it in or send a photo. Trevor will tell you straight if it is not a job for paintless repair.

What comes through the door

The work

From a small door crease to extensive hail damage, the Dint Dude is the man for you.

01

Door dings and creases

The supermarket car park special. A dent pushed back out from behind the panel, worked slowly against the light until the reflection runs straight again. No filler, no sanding, no paint.

02

Hail damage

A bonnet and roof full of hail is the job paintless dent repair was invented for. Dozens of small dents come out one at a time and the original paint stays exactly where the factory put it.

03

Sharp body line creases

The hard ones. A crease sitting right on a swage line, or running over a compound curve, where the metal has been stretched. These take patience and the right tool angle rather than a heavier hand.

Every job is quoted before any work starts, so you know the number first. Cash, EFTPOS, Visa and Mastercard are all fine.

Sutton Street, Delacombe

A grey shed with a blue sign on it

The Dint Dude has been going since 2010. It started out of Creswick and moved into the Delacombe workshop in 2022, which is where the roller door has been going up every weekday morning since.

Trevor Boyd does the quoting, the repair and the handover himself. Nobody hands your car to an apprentice halfway through, and nobody rings you to say the price has moved. It is a one man shop, which is why it books out, and why people say they got the car back the same day.

Highly recommend The Dint Dude! I went in a week ago for a quote, Trev was exceptionally priced and was a really friendly, approachable person. I had a couple of minor dents in my Hyundai Sonata, one of which was in a bit of a tricky place to get to, to fix. He quoted me a very reasonable price and told me how busy his schedule was so I could plan a day that would suit us both. He also told me he'd have it done in a day which was really convenient for me as a parent. Any questions myself or my husband had he was able to answer and was happy to explain how he was going to fix the dents. I had it booked at 9am and picked it up the same day around 1:30pm. He did a stellar job, wouldn't even know there were ever any dents. I will be referring all my family and friends to him.

Trev got our car fixed the very next day. Talk about prompt attention! Perfect door dent repair on tricky black metallic paint. Fully recommend this guy and his work.

Trevor is awesome. I highly recommend him if you need some dints removed. Mine was a big one and well just look at the photos. The dint / crease was on a sharp line around the guard and a complex curve over the top. And awesome job. Can't thank him enough. And the price was also amazing.
